Synopsis "Bunyan's Commentary on Genesis (in English)"
It is not often realised that the author of Pilgrim's Progress wrote a commentary on Genesis. As far as we know, Bunyan's incomplete Genesis commentary has not been separately published before - though it was published posthumously as part of a "Complete Works" collection in 1691. This edition contains notes from an 1853 edition by George Offor, as well as new preface and notes by Paul Taylor. Readers will enjoy owning and using this classic and valuable commentary from one of the leading lights of English theology and literature. Paul F Taylor is an international speaker on creation and apologetics. He is the author of several books, including The Six Days of Genesis, Cain and Abel and In the Beginning. He and his wife Geraldene live in Pensacola, Florida, and have five children between them. John Bunyan was born near Bedford in 1628. He was saved shortly after the Civil War. His first wife died young. Shortly after his second marriage, Bunyan was arrested and imprisoned for being an unauthorised preacher. He stayed in prison for many years, because he refused to give an undertaking not to preach the Gospel. It was in prison that the ideas for his allegories came to him, and he was able to publish them in the next few years following his eventual release.
