Dieses Buch behandelt die deklarative Analyse prosodischer Morphologie mithilfe unverletzbarer Constraints. Silbenbezogene Beschrnkungen beeinflussen dabei sowohl einzelne segmentale Alternationen wie auch die Oberflchengestalt einer gesamten Wortform. Nach den theoretischen und formalen Grundlagen im Rahmen der Computerphonologie werden neue Theorien zur Geminatenreprsentation und zur Analyse "nichtkonkatenativer" Morphologien entwickelt. Zwei computermodellierte Detailstudien wenden diese sowohl auf Konsonantenalternationen im Finnischen als auch auf die Verben des Tigrinya an.
