In book one Rebecca contemplates how to end her twenty year loveless marriage to her abusive but very wealthy husband, Marcus. During a home invasion, Marcus is brutally assaulted and after remains of an American male matching his description are found in the Mexican desert, he is presumed dead. In this sequel, Rebecca believing Marcus is dead and she and her two children are finally free from his abuse, attempts to settle his estate and move on with her life. She subsequently moves out of Marcus's lavish mansion and while unpacking her belongings at her new residence rediscovers the storage unit key she found hidden in his bedroom at the mansion. What she finds stashed in Marcus's secret storage unit is both ghastly as well as pleasantly surprising and sets the theme for this sequel. David, Rebecca's crack head tormentor, escaped felon and murderer, avoids capture and continues his horrific killing spree.
