In zwei Probandenstudien hat Christoph Johannes Heimsath eine signifikante Verbesserung des Komforts für Kfz-Passagiere durch den gezielten Einsatz von asymmetrischen Trajektorien nachgewiesen. Er kann zeigen, dass sich Kurven negativ auf die Komforthomogenität innerhalb eines Spurwechsels auswirken. Dieser Effekt kann gezielt durch die Wahl einer asymmetrischen Trajektorie kompensiert und damit der Gesamtkomfort verbessert werden. Dies ermöglicht eine Akzeptanzverbesserung für die Assistenzsysteme künftiger Serienfahrzeuge. Die entwickelte Methode ist ein wesentlicher Baustein für die weitere Objektivierung von hochautomatisierten Fahrfunktionen.
