L'autor hi essencialitza els tics del tarannà d'aquest estament, amb una proposta de futur que passa per la necessària acceptació de la cultura com un valor de progrés, si és que la burgesia autòctona pretén igualar-se a altres burgesies de l'Europa coetània.
