El libro de Robert S. Hartman es un texto espléndido para aprender a vivir de la mano de un hombre modélico. Hartman expone y explica en su biografía seis vías prácticas y realistas que podemos seguir para alcanzar el desarrollo del Ser, anticipando con ello lo que más ta-de se ha puesto de moda llenando estanterías de textos vacíos de contenido que se hacen denominar manuales de desarrollo humano, textos de autoayuda, psicología práctica, etcétera.
R.S. Hartman consiguió algo que desde Sócrates. Epicteto y Platón, pasando por los grandes filósofos, pensadores y maestros espirituales clásicos, hasta las mentes privilegiadas actuales han intentado sin éxito: formalizar la dimensión cualitativa del alma y de la psique humana. En este sentido, me atrevo a situar la obra de Hartman a la misma altura de las grandes creaciones de personas excepcionales como C.G. Jung, E. Kant o A. Einstein.
