El estrés emocional favorece la enfermedad de Parkinson. Lo intuyeron los neurólogos del siglo XIX en los casos que reproducimos. Después de un siglo de olvido, neurocientíficos actuales se plantean nuevamente que el estrés intenso o prolongado daña las neuronas. El párkinson es una enfermedad "cultural", solo afecta a humanos. Y hay hipótesis sugerentes como que los núcleos del tronco cerebral que fallan son los que soportan el peso de la evolución del cerebro reptiliano al de mamíferos primitivos y luego al hombre. Sus neuronas se ven obligadas a nuevas conexiones "multitarea" que les sobrecargan (demasiadas sinapsis que alimentar) y se hacen más vulnerables.
