La obra de Carlos Pérez Siquier (1930) destaca en el panorama español e internacional como pieza fundamental en la forja de la modernidad fotográfica y la profesionalización del medio en España, en primera instancia desde postulados próximos al neorrealismo y, más adelante, como pionero de la fotografía en color. En ambas vertientes, Pérez Siquier actúa desde una privilegiada posición liminal y con una mirada singular, plenamente consciente de su autoría a pesar de haber partido desde una concepción intuitiva de la fotografía, lejana de cualquier formación académica. Premio Nacional de fotografía en 2003, el fotógrafo ha creado un Corpus fotográfico que se adentra de manera tangencial y al tiempo profunda y mordaz en los debates de su momento.
