Synopsis "Rhythm and Hues: Twenty-Three Stories of Hardship and Hope (in English)"

Rhythm and Hues - Twenty-Three Stories of Hardship and HopeBy: Corey B. CollinsRhythm and Hues - Twenty-Three Stories of Hardship and Hope is a collection of stories that explore the challenges and triumphs experienced by marginalized communities. In America, hardship and hope are strange bedfellows that often travel in tandem through many communities of color. From families and friends mourning the loss of loved ones taken too soon to youngsters striving to achieve through difficulties not of their own making, these pages lift the veil and offer the hued reader a look at the sometimes familiar. They also offer the non-hued reader some understanding of how communities often burdened by crosses so heavy manage time and again to summon the strength to continue looking upward.About the AuthorCorey B. Collins is a practicing attorney in Miami, Florida. He attended college at the University of Notre Dame, graduating with a dual degree in government and Spanish. Thereafter, he spent a year working for a member of the United States House of Representatives before continuing his education at the University of Miami School of Law. Beyond practicing law, Collins chairs the board of directors of the James B. Collins Memorial Fund, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides monetary scholarships to high school seniors needing financial assistance for college and also makes an annual donation to the American Cancer Society in the hopes of finding a cure for cancer. He also serves on the board of directors of the non-profit St. John Community Development Corporation. In his spare time, Collins enjoys running, having completed four marathons and fifteen half-marathons. He published his first novel The Thanks You Get in 2017.
