Synopsis "Soñar en la Antiguedad: Los Soñadores y su Experiencia"

Este libro somete a examen la experiencia de un grupo de soñadores de la antigüedad greco-latina y del primer cristianismo. Entre los soñadores paganos se encuentran los filósofos estoicos y epicúreos además de Elio Aristides. Entre los soñadores cristianos están Perpetua, san Jerónimo y los anacoretas del desierto de Egipto. Por «experiencia» entendemos las preguntas que estos individuos dirigían a sus sueños: «¿soy yo quien sueña? Y si no soy yo, ¿quién me advierte, me amenaza o amonesta a través de ellos?». Y también las preguntas que el individuo se dirige a sí mismo para hacer intervenir esos sueños en su existencia: «¿Cómo debo comportarme ante mis sueños?, ¿cómo debo dirigirme a mí mismo, corregirme o justificarme para ser la clase de sujeto moral que debo ser?».
