John Bremen and his wife, Daphne Whitacre, launch a new career as private investigators after leaving their previous government jobs in the Dallas, Texas, area. They decided to move to John’s hometown of Ashburn, Alabama, where he had graduated from college in 1968. They bought a dilapidated, old mansion, and immediately were hired to find the rightful owner of that estate, who had disappeared fifty years before. John and Daphne attempt to solve the case of the missing heiress. The Bremen & Whitacre Detective series is the third series of novels for MW Burdette.
