Al cumplirse treinta años de la promulgación de la Constitución Política del Perú de 1993, el Instituto de Estudios Internacionales (IDEI) de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú consideró pertinente abrir un espacio de reflexión académica en torno a las disposiciones que este instrumento consagra en materia internacional. Para ello, convocó a destacados especialistas y profesores de Derecho Internacional y Relaciones Internacionales con el propósito de analizar las diferentes temáticas involucradas.

Esta obra colectiva no solo tiene como propósito establecer las fortalezas y limitaciones de la Constitución vigente en materia internacional si no también plantear eventuales propuestas de reforma para la mejora y el fortalecimiento del marco constitucional peruano. Con ello, el Instituto de Estudios Internacionales busca cumplir con sus fines referidos a la promoción de la investigación sobre Perú.
