On the eve of a glorious Christmas celebration at Lioncross Abbey, Welsh rebels make an unexpected move against a nearby village. Thinking it will be a relatively simple thing to chase them off, Christopher de Lohr, David de Lohr, Marcus Burton, and Christopher's eldest son, Peter, don their armor and ride out with the army to vanquish the Welsh invaders. But it wasn't so simple. The Welsh prove vicious on this holiest of holidays and Christopher is unexpectedly wounded, knocked into a flowing river.
