Kat, 25, has the creeping feeling that despite all her rage, she is still just a well-nourished, college educated rat in a cage. And Dirk, 28, just wants self-driving cars to hit the market already so he can be drunk 24/7. They are Millennials and it is 2017 and they work in an office in a generic US city with well-defined seasons (ie. snow in winter). But maybe they have bigger dreams, and maybe those dreams are achievable, or maybe they don't know what their dreams are, or maybe they are content as tiny cogs in a machine that is just a cog itself in a bigger machine and so on and so forth, forever. ADULT GUMMIES is an absurdist satire of the young adult office worker of today, a loving critique of that generation born between the early-80s through late-90s, those who grew up alongside their electronic devices, always connected, always on. Criticized by older generations in closer proximity to death for being lazy, idealistic, indecisive and non-committal, for being addicted to social media and shamefully self-absorbed.
