Synopsis "Adventures in Slumberland: A Holiday Play of Little Nemo (in English)"

On the night before Christmas in 1905, a sleeping boy's head is full of magic as he strives to keep a play-date with his friend the Princess of Slumberland, and on the way help Santa, and maybe make the world a better place! SYNOPSIS The evening consists of three dreams, interrupted by brief periods of waking in which Nemo is reassured by his mother and put back to sleep. In his first dream, Nemo is by turns disoriented and delighted by the people and creatures he discovers, but believes he must reach "Slumberland" to meet his playmate the Princess. He meets two important colleagues, the incomprehensible Imp, and the wily Flip-Flap who not-so-secretly tries to thwart Nemo's mission. Nemo's second dream is troubled by the anxiety of not being able to remember exactly where he is supposed to go or what he is supposed to be doing, but is soon rewarded for his tenaciousness and reaches the Princess. The play with joy, but this dream is ended abruptly by the jealous Flip. In his third dream of the evening, Nemo learns to master his dreams, so he may control his surroundings rather than be subject to them. He realizes that every great person was once a child, and wakes on Christmas morning with a joyful self-confidence.
