Drei Männer treffen in einem österreichischen Berggasthof aufeinander, um sich vor einem schweren Unwetter zu schützen, die beiden Syrer Arif Temiz, Djamal Awad und Tom Bender, Arzt aus Berlin, der mit Familie in den Urlaub reist. Voller Misstrauen begegnen sie sich. Während Tom schnell weiterreisen möchte, zieht es die beiden Flüchtlinge nach Deutschland. Um ihre Flucht zu sichern, schreckt Djamal nicht vor einer Geiselnahme und schweren Straftaten zurück. Für Toms Sohn endet die tragisch. In Berlin treffen sie erneut aufeinander. Tom verdächtigt die Syrer des Terrorismus und vermutet einen Anschlag, den er verhindern will. Gelingt ihm das?
