El 1982, un escriptor que s’assembla a Marsé entrevista un home condemnat a presó l’any 1949 per un assassinat que recorda haver comès sense recordar-ne el mòbil. L’objectiu de l’entrevista és escriure el guió d’una pel·lícula per a un director pertinaçment antifranquista, tot i que serà produïda per un manefla de la televisió que converteix la història en un porno històric protagonitzat per una puta cega. Però la puta tan distingida del títol no és aquesta, sinó la manera que tenim d’explicar-nos a nosaltres mateixos: la famosa memòria.
