The biography of VP Fernandus is the story of a penniless evangelist, who along with his wife and their one-year-old son set out for Andhra Pradesh on a mission to bring lost souls to Christ. The book is a testimony to God's faithfulness in big things and small things, in everything.This book was originally written in Malayalam (A south Indian language) by evangelist Kunjumon Thottapally aimed at reaching out to the Brethren believers from Kerala (a south Indian state). Hence, many references, people and places are from Kerala, I have rewritten this book while trying to do justice to the content that Mr Kunjumon created.This book seeks to inspire and to transform, if stuck in the lukewarm stupor of being a passive observer while the world passes you buy, then we pray that this book will jolt you into action. To ask ourselves what more must we do?Fernandus, through his life work in this book, shows how prayer, followed by action brings results. The sacrifice, tears and sweat notwithstanding, he has demonstrated a sustained effort to keep going. I imagine that, early on, it would have been quite easy for Fernandus to turn around and retreat in defeat. He could have returned to the relative comfort of his early life. However, in the face of adversity, Fernandus preserved through faith and prayer. Maybe it's time that we too must pray, participate and support. All we need to do is to let the Lord know that we are willing. The master potter will make of us what He will. Whether it is in the hot hills and forests of Vijayanagaram in Andhra Pradesh or the far mountain tops of the Himalayas, it doesn't matter; The Lord has a plan, just that we need to submit to His will before winter comes.At the time of going to press, Fernandus had established more than 62 churches and the number is still growing. Before Winter Comes wants to reenergize you and rekindle the fire within you. This book shows examples of extraordinary instances of adversity overcome with simple faith. You too can depend on God for your challenges and in turn, do mighty things for him.
