Synopsis "Carla's Kamera: A Jake Powell Mystery (in English)"
Jake and Billie are asked to look into the accidental death of Captain Sandusky's ex-partner, Darlene Backster. They discover the death was one of 6 completed by Mike Gontralto as revenge for his father's railroading and accidental death in prison. While solving that crime, they accidentally uncover a major criminal enterprise occurring with gangs, the Raleigh Police Department and Captain Sandusky's former partner, who ran the enterprise until her murder. Jake and Billie, with the help of Felicity's computer skills and retired Detective William Hitchens local connections, gather enough information for a grand jury investigation. The only issue resulting from the investigation was whether their Captain was involved in the enterprise. They do not find anything linking her to the enterprise except Cayman Island's account which Felicity discovers is bogus but they also find nothing to exonerate her. Because of the this the Captain takes a leave of absence to decided on her future. Although it is supposed to be a temporary absence, the team is wondering if she'll return. Back in Maryland, Darlene's sister, Linda, is trying to decide what to do with her sister's journal. Does Linda ever get around to reading it and will the journal absolve Captain Sandusky once and for all. During the Captain's absence Billie is made interim Captain. On her first day as Captain, a body if found at the base of Sunrise Mountain. It will be the first of many bodies uncovered by the team. Will they find the link in time to stop more deaths? Meanwhile Carla Charios and her husband Mickey have found a new hobby to enhance Carla's current love of photography. During a hike, Mickey has to kill a snake that was getting ready to strike. Carla accidentally takes a picture of the event and discovers she is thrilled seeing Mickey kill the snake. She talks Mickey into committing murders while she photographs the killings. A rather bizarre hobby and one that Jake and Billie need to uncover and stop. How many bodies will pile up before Jake and Billie find the connection? Since Carla sometimes does professional photo shoots, will her planned coverage of a destination 50th High Scholl Reunion result in a mass casualty event. Meanwhile, Billie is trying to plan a wedding, her finance Adam is trying to run a new dog training facility and the Captain is trying to decide if she will ever come back to Metro.
