From humble beginnings as a boy in war torn Greece to dreams of the new world, Nick describes his journey from Greece to America. Along the way, he experiences unexpected tragedies and adventures. A detour to Bolivia, is followed by the sudden the loss of his beloved father, which turns his life and upside down. Determined to provide for his family and to fulfill his dreams, he sets out alone for Canada. Hard work and his entrepreneurial spirit pay off, and he ultimately makes it to California, where he builds a fulfilling life as a husband and father, a successful businessman, and a local celebrity. With a long and successful career behind him, and his children with families of their own, he enters the next chapter in his life. Not unlike Odysseus, the call of his homeland is too strong to ignore. His return to his childhood home in the village of Molaoi, leads him to reflect on his life, and triggers a cascade of memories.
