Synopsis "Deception: An Alex French Mystery (in English)"

Savage has just come up with another gripping Alex French mystery novel as a part of his ALEX FRENCH series. Along with Into Darkness, Dangerous Game, Deception by B.A. Savage is one of the best thriller novels of the author. The American crime and mystery writer gets better and better over time, it is obvious. Deception by B.A. Savage still offers the benefits of crime book series: we meet the familiar characters whom we already have grown to like. Well-loved, popular characters are staples for the best thriller novels. In Deception by B.A. Savage, we can meet the perceptive and gifted private detective, Alex French again. The book also offers the atmosphere of lingering tension. This time, Alex French is working on the mysterious disappearance of Eva Chandler, a pretty woman in her forties. The local sheriff does not seem to make a fuss about the Eva Chandler case, saying the vanished woman had the reputation of a cougar, she was very rich and dated much younger men on a regular basis. According to the sheriff, Eva most certainly enjoys a secret weekend with her newest boyfriend. However, instinct tells Alex French that there is more to her vanishing. French - who has asked around about the lady - knows that Eva Chandler is not the shallow, easy-going woman townspeople believe her to be, she is a self-made millionaire, a hard-working, serious person. French meets the much younger husband of Eva, a nice-looking fellow named Tom Chandler. One thing is sure, the couple had lots of money, they lived in a nice estate named Crystal Spring Estate, in a well-tended, majestic environment, and they used the services of an expensive private security team. French learns from Tom Chandler that Eva was worried about strangers' trespassing their place and stealing cattle. Eva has disappeared five days earlier. A member of her security team informed her that some cattle was missing, she went out to look around and never returned. A couple of kids happened to be on the estate at that time, they were trespassing, and one of them happened to wear Eva's high-end wrist-watch when the sheriff found them. On the other hand, the sheriff can remember that Eva reported that she lost her wrist-watch. Since her sudden disappearance, Eva has not used her cell phone or credit card. Alex French suspects that someone has kidnapped Eva. Who has harmed her - her spouse, the trespassing kids, or someone else? Deception by B.A. Savage, one of the best thriller novels of the past couple of months, is an exciting summer read. It is recommended for anyone who can have a good time with a great crime story.
