Synopsis "Deeper Than Blood (in English)"
The year is 1803, and married couple Balloch and Sorcha are living a peaceful life in their rural village in the Scottish Highlands. Content with their croft and what little they possess in material wealth, they lack only one thing – a child to call their own. Little do they know that this future child – along with the encroaching English army – will soon change everything.The family, including their adopted son, Angus, and his wife, Heather, together with their own children – Connor, Cameron, Anna and Calum – are ultimately driven from their ancestral home. Together, they must make a new life for themselves in Glasgow, where there is no place for farmers and the streets are teeming with desperation and poverty.As their lives unfold, Connor, Cameron, Anna and Calum each find themselves on their own unique paths, all of which draw them far across the sea to the likes of America, India and China.
