Die Kunst der muslimischen Bevölkerung, die auch nach der Reconquista in Spanien blieb, nimmt unbestritten eine einzigartige Stellung innerhalb der islamischen Kunstformen ein: Sie ist die sichtbare Manifestation eines wirklichen kulturellen Miteinanders, einer Verschmelzung zweier Kulturen, die trotz ihres politischen und religiösen Antagonismus eine fruchtbare künstlerische Romanze eingingen. Die für ihre Baukunst berühmten Mudejaren errichteten für die christlichen Neuankömmlinge unzählige Paläste, Klöster und Kirchen unter schöpferischer Bewahrung islamischer Formen. Die verschiedenen Regionen, durch die diese Ausstellungsstra e führt, sind die wichtigsten Stätten dieser Kunstwerke, die in ihrer gro en Zahl und den vielfältigen Varianten von der Vitalität des Mudéjar-Stils zeugen.13 Routen laden ein, 124 Museen, Denkmäler und archäologische Stätten u. a. in Madrid, Guadalajara, Zaragoza, Tordesillas, Toledo, Guadalupe and Sevilla zu entdecken.
