Gerüche prägen die Wahrnehmung unserer Umgebung ma geblich mit. Dabei wirft sich die Frage auf, ob diese Wahrnehmung und Interpretation als soziales Konstrukt verstanden werden kann. Dieser Band verbindet sozialkonstruktivistische und phänomenologische Forschungsansätze und damit die Geruchswahrnehmung theoretisch mit Theorien zur Konstruktion von Landschaften. Neben dieser theoretischen Einordnung von Geruchslandschaften werden die dabei aufgestellten Thesen empirisch geprüft. Zudem erfolgt eine beispielhafte kartographische Umsetzung von Geruchslandschaften. Dies alles geschieht dabei vor dem Hintergrund der 'Weihnachtlichen Geruchslandschaft'.
