José A. Ramírez Lozano (Nogales, Badajoz, 1950). Licenciado en Filología. Ha publicado más de setenta obras. Cuarto creciente (2010) es una buena muestra de su poesía, galardonada con premios como el Juan Ramón Jiménez, José Hierro, Ricardo Molina o Ciudad de Irún. Como narrador, fue candidato al premio Nacional de 1986 con Gárgola, premio Azorín. Consiguió también el Ateneo de Valladolid, Ciudad de Valencia y Felipe Trigo, entre otros. Además, ha publicado literatura juvenil con la que obtuvo los premios Jaén, Everest, Lazarillo y Banco Mundial del Libro de Venezuela. Fue Premio de la Crítica Andaluza con su novela Las manzanas de Erasmo (2010).
