Synopsis "Don Juan Tenorio"

El don Juan de Zorrilla es uno de los personajes que la literatura española ha legado a la literatura universal, junto al Quijote, al Lazarillo y a la Celestina. El Don Juan de Zorrilla, como obra hija del Romanticismo, introduce el tema de la rebeldía, de la libertad por encima de todo, y del amor salvador; como obra hija de la moral cristiana (de la vertiente más conservadora del Romanticismo, a la que pertenece el autor), presenta motivos puramente religiosos, que solo en parte recogen la esencia del esquema mítico de que la transgresión conlleva el castigo. Porque será precisamente ese amor salvador y angelical el que provocará la redención del protagonista a través de su arrepentimiento cristiano en el último instante de su vida.
