All life lies strangled In the folds of her triumph, And the snow falls and falls and falls … Maria Obiechina has been greatly moved by certain events in the world and her life. In her debut collection of poems, she shares poignant verse that explores emotions, human frailty and strength, loss, love, and regrets. Obiechina, who has been an educator in both America and Nigeria, lyrically reflects on her life experiences as she attempted to understand complex events around her and find a better path. Her poems express her frustration after visiting a Nigerian factory, the pain of unrequited love, the heartbreak of war, the beauty of a winter’s day, and the differences between generations.
