Basierend auf paleontologischen und sedimentologischen Methoden, wie der Analyse von Schlämmproben und Dünnschliffen, wird versucht die Ablagerungsbedingungen an den drei Orten zu identifizieren. Das Resultat bringt einen neuen Vorschlag für die lithostratigraphische Einteilung des Rhät-'bonebeds' mit sich.
