El campamento Domineau es una historia de acción y espionaje que transcurre en el Túnez colonial francés. Estamos en el período inmediatamente anterior a la Segunda Guerra Mundial, durante la Guerra Civil española. La narración constituye un excelente ejemplo de la mejor novela de acción del francés Pierre Mac Orlan, del que se ha dicho que anticipó las novelas de espionaje de Graham Greene y John Le Carré. Como en éstas, sus protagonistas son héroes vulgares, desconocedores de los hilos que mueven su actividad y actores en el escenario colonial de un drama cuyas inminentes y funestas consecuencias se les escapan, pero que queda reflejado en sus páginas con maestría.
