En este libro se presenta una investigación que articula la reflexión teórica con una propuesta analítica y un estudio empírico. La exposición teórica desarrolla la definición de la juventud como un proceso de transición hacía la vida adulta, mientras que la analítica establece las distintas dimensiones de la crisis de la sociedad salarial y describe los cambios estructurales que inciden en las trayectorias individuales. La indagación empírica ha buscado, a través del método biográfico, insertar las trayectorias vitales en el devenir social, reconstruyendo los itinerarios escolares y laborales de una tipología de jóvenes canarios y caracterizando sus experiencias, atendiendo a la relación entre los dilemas que deben afrontarse en el proceso de juventud y las estrategias diferenciales desarrolladas para resolverlosThis book presents an investigation which combines theoretical reflection with an analytical proposal and an empirical study. The theoretical exposition develops the definition of youth as a process of transition towards adult life, while the analytics establishes the different dimensions of the wage-based society crisis and describes the structural changes that affect individual itineraries. The empirical inquiry, based on the biographical method, has sought to integrate the life paths into the process of social development by reconstructing the school and work itineraries of a typology of young Canary Islanders and characterizing their experiences, considering the relationship between the dilemmas that have to be faced during the transition to adulthood and the different strategies used to resolve them.
