At the end of his life, the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer achieved the public recognition for his work that went unnoticed for so long. A young a promising artist, Elisabeth Ney, asks for his permission to make a sculpture of him. Flattered, the great pessimist accepts her request. Over the course of a few months he poses for the young girl, and meanwhile he speaks to her about everything and anything imaginable. Between this thinker famous for his misogynistic ideas and this beautiful artist a strangely sweet relationship is formed. At times, Schopenhauer even seemed to revise his opinion on the female gender In this eloquent and subtle philosophical comedy, one of these sessions between the sculptor and her famous model is imagined.
