Ethical Education Based on Love (in English)
Mujica Johnson, Felipe Nicolás
Synopsis "Ethical Education Based on Love (in English)"
This work arises as a way of highlighting the importance of metaphysical aspects in our ethical life and, in particular, love. Emotions, or emotional intuition, are fundamental to experience that objective and spiritual feeling, as explained by different philosophers. In particular, some prominent thinkers in this interpretation of the intentional act of love are Franz Brentano, Max Scheler and José Ortega y Gasset. At the same time, through this book, essentially, it is intended to question the current formal education that continues to reproduce an ultra-rationalist view. In this sense, it justifies the importance of continuing to concretize the emotional or affective turn in pedagogy. Finally, different reflections are included that discuss the limitations and potentialities of human rights, including topics such as moral indoctrination, freedom of conscience, abortion, prisons, violence and capitalism. Associated with these themes, some of the virtues of Christianity are analyzed, specifically, humility and respect for God.
