John Lancaster (the author's husband) had worked as an electrical engineer at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for 26 years when he suddenly retired disabled with Parkinson's Disease. This book is the memoir of the author and her husband's trials and tribulations in dealing with this new and unexpected life situation. The author details how they dealt with such challenges as enduring painful physical therapy, financial planning, trying to maintain a daily routine despite the pressure and stress, and even a month long vacation. Finally the struggles and challenges culminate when the author suffers a serious heart attack, and this event forces them to find a nursing home for John and his Parkinson's. This book portrays an intimate inside view of a family coming together to celebrate John's life when the inevitable finally happens. The author then covers the grieving time and ultimately shows that there is life after death for the surviving spouse. Throughout it all - a true love story shines through.
