Ventrikuläre Arrhythmien mit Beteiligung des faszikulären Reizleitungssystems können sowohl bei strukturell normalen als auch bei abnormalen Herzen auftreten. Die Morphologie der QRS-Komplexe im Elektrokardiogramm während der Tachykardien ist ein gutes Hilfsmittel zur Identifizierung des wahrscheinlichen Ursprungsortes des Rhythmus. Obwohl diese Arrhythmien im Allgemeinen eine relativ günstige Prognose haben, wurde über plötzliche Todesfälle berichtet, die glücklicherweise selten sind, da die meisten dieser Tachykardien in der jungen Bevölkerung auftreten. Die idiopathische faschikuläre ventrikuläre Tachykardie (IFVT) macht unter allen Formen idiopathischer ventrikulärer Tachykardien (RV- oder LV-Ausflussbahntachykardien, Papillarmuskeltachykardien) etwa 10 bis 15 % der Fälle aus.
