FROM PREACHER TO POET, first printed in 2009, now revised and reprinted, is the first published book of poetry by Byrum C. Lee. More recently, he has published his second book of poems, THE POET'S PULPIT. FROM PREACHER TO POET grew from Byrum's desire to continue sharing messages of challenge and inspiration, even after retiring from the pastoral ministry and seeing his role change from traditional preacher to that of a poet. As a young man, Byrum served as an associate minister with his father, Reverend E. C. Lee, and continued serving for fifty years, first as a music evangelist, then as a pastor and State Ministerial Coordinator, retiring in 1990 at the age of 71. Following his retirement, Byrum has been able to continue his ministry by way of articles and poems in Christian publications, as well as through his two published books of poetry. In the two books of poems written by Byrum, are found hundreds of his poetic writings, most of which are based on Biblical teachings and stories. It is his hope and prayer that you, the reader, will find these writings both inspirational and challenging.
