Written on Awakabal land in and around Newcastle's suburbs and beaches, and published here, his poems engage a politics of location. Despite its interest in the transitory, hotel universo, and poetry more widely, is a place to have come to, 'and never left'.Chris Brown is a poet, teacher and student living in Newcastle. His poems have appeared in a number of magazines and journals. He edits the poetry chapbook series Slow Loris. In 2019, he was the inaugural winner of the Karen Thrift Poetry Prize.
