It is the story of how Kenna learned to walk a middle way between the two extremes, and how she found what her therapist has called "a sane, sober, integrated spirituality." It is also the story of how she came to trust herself after a lifetime of doubting her own instincts and feelings. Kenna takes us on a complex internal and external journey through pain, confusion and addiction, triumphs, setbacks, and triumphs again. Her story includes mystical experiences in India and at home, multiple stints on the Camino de Santiago, a long process of uncovering hidden incest and struggles to trust what she found, a relationship with a narcissist, and a near-death kundalini awakening. She ultimately disentangles herself from her many inner and outer traps and gains the perspective that everything had a purpose, that everything ultimately led her to her purpose.
