Peter was one of the twelve disciples chosen by Jesus. He left his life as a fisherman to follow Jesus and later travelled far and wide spreading the gospel. He is mentioned in all 4 Gospel accounts (one of which he may well have provided the source material for), features quite strongly in the book of Acts and also has 2 letters attributed to him. As such, he is a key figure in the New Testament. His journey of faith is, therefore, well worth exploring as we have plenty of detail about it and he was a key figure for early Christians to emulate and learn from.
