A simple shepherd witnesses the greatest announcement from God since "Let there be light!" was proclaimed at the beginning of time.The journey of the shepherd, from the angelic appearance in Luke 2:9 through the praising of God for all that he had heard and seen, Luke 2:20, comes to life in vibrant colors.From the aerial perspective of the heavens, the shepherd is seen receiving the announcement, finding the Babe, and telling others of the birth of the Savior. Rozlah Ridenoure, author of Just a Little Donkey and thirty year veteran in children's ministry, has teamed up once again with her brother, artist Monte Stout, to produce their second book, Just a Plain, Poor, Simple Shepherd. Rozlah lives north of Sacramento, California and has a well known history of story telling and making "Bible Time" come to life. Her former students well remember Bible class with Sister Rōz, Miss Rōz, or Mrs. Ridenoure. Monte lives in a small town in Northeastern California. His artwork ranges from impressionistic to lifelike. He creates art with everything from natural wood to roofing materials. In Just a Plain, Poor, Simple Shepherd he has created vibrant images that pop with detail and color.
