Synopsis "La Arquitectura Tradicionalista: Teoría, Obras y Proyectos"

La arquitectura tradicionalista construyó la ciudad europea entre las dos guerras. Sin embargo, los tradicionalistas han resultado ser los 'perdedores' en la confrontación con las necesidades de la sociedad del siglo XX. El modo de concebir la disciplina arquitectónica, los valores formales ligados al pasado, el fracaso en la conjugación de aquellos valores con las exigencias de la industrialización, se han revelado fatales en el desafío con la modernidad. Pero hay, además, otro motivo: la tendencia de la crítica y de la historiografía a privilegiar los aspectos innovadores de la nueva arquitectura frente a los 'conservadores'. Partiendo de esta premisa es posible proponer una lectura 'desde el interior' del tradicionalismo y de su imponente herencia construida.
