Beginning by examining the history of science and demonstrating how it has traditionally ignored the mind—despite its generally accepted role as the instrument through which we perceive and understand the world—the book argues that the meditative techniques practiced for millennia by the world’s great spiritual traditions can lead to new dimensions of consciousness and deepen the experience of reality.
