Los autores de este volumen le dan una importancia singular a Fez pero también analizan otras fenomenologías sociales y culturales del urbanismo colonial en Argel, Alhucemas, Tetuán, Tánger, Sidi Ifni, y abordan temas transversales a las mismas como el papel de los interventores militares en la planificación urbana o la «bagdadización» de las culturas urbanas actuales del mundo árabe.
