Estos ensayos fueron publicados por primera vez en un solo volumen en 1992. Fueron escritos, casi en su totalidad , a lo largo de la década del ochenta. En esta reedición el autorha reducido el número de ensayos compilados a treinta, agrupados en tres secciones: lo político, lo poético, lo conjetural. En ellos analiza el significado de la democracia, la relación entre poder y verdad, la articulación entre poesía y psicoanálisis y otros temas. El autor, ensayista y poeta obtuvo en 2000 el primer premio de poesía de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
