Speech features like tone and pitch plays a crucial role in performance enhancement of speech recognition engines. Punjabi language have tonal features of laryngeal phoneme [h] /h/ . In this book s authors have tried to examine tonal aspect of a glottal sound word [h] /h/. Though [h] /h/ is been used in all positions of word i.e. in starting, mid and at the end but still it is tonal in a few of the cases. Words holding [h] /h/ at different positions have been recorded by Punjabi speakers of all four major dialects (Majha, Malwa, Powadh and Doaba) and analyzed using speech analysis tools.
