Esta publicación cubre un hueco en el ámbito de la antropología filosófica española, reconociendo la contribución de nuestros grandes filósofos del siglo XX a dicha antropología, que es una de las más importantes que nuestro país ha hecho a la filosofía mundial. No están todos los pensadores españoles que han contribuido a la antropología filosófica, falta la importante saga de los médicos que tanto han aportado a la reflexión filosófica sobre el ser humano, pero todos ellos son deudores de Ortega o Zubiri. Mas, si no están es porque aún no han encontrado su lugar en el conjunto de los estudiosos de la antropología filosófica en España. De Laín Entralgo sólo hay un texto. Pasa lo mismo que con el resto de los médicos: sus enseñanzas y escritos todavía no han penetrado en nuestro entramado de pensamiento. Esta obra puede servir para llamar la atención sobre esa problemática y así promover su estudio.
