The Old Testament, after all, was the Bible of the early church and was, indeed, Jesus' Bible as well as that of Peter, John, Paul, and the other followers of Christ. If you really want to understand Jesus, you need to understand his Bible. And there is more. The Old Testament actually contains gospel - good news - of its own, starting with God declaring that all of creation is very good, to the Exodus - even to the forgotten introduction of the Ten Commandments.
