H. Auden, Francis and Katherine Biddle, Paul Claudel, Joseph Conrad, E. E. Cummings, Mina Curtiss, T. S. Eliot, Andre Gide, Dag Hammarskjold, Archibald MacLeish, Jean Paulhan, Jacques Riviere, Igor Stravinsky, Allen Tate, and Paul Valery. Originally published in 1979.
