Analizando los usos políticos de conocimientos eruditos en la consolidación de las culturas nacionales gallega, portuguesa y española, y sus manifestaciones contemporáneas en el Noroeste de la Península Ibérica, este ensayo de António Medeiros también se plantea una aproximación etnográfica inédita que atraviesa pioneramente las fronteras estatales.This book compiles the results of the fieldwork carried out by the author in various localities in the Minho region of Portugal and Galicia, showing a great familiarity with the history of the ethnographic discourses which have developed there, fundamental components in the various nationalist discourses consolidated in these contexts since the late 19th century. By analysing the political uses of erudite knowledge in the consolidation of the Galician, Portuguese and Spanish national cultures, and their contemporary manifestations in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, António Medeiros' essay also adopts a pioneering ethnographic approach that crosses state borders.
