Synopsis "Los Siete Libros de la Diana"

Los siete libros de la Diana tiene como precedente las églogas de Garcilaso de la Vega y la poesía pastoril de España. La Diana se distingue por ser escrita en una mezcla de verso y prosa y por unificar diversos "ambientes" en la misma historia. Entre otros, incluye el ambiente pastoril, el sobrenatural, el urbano y aun el morisco. La familia árabe de los Abencerrajes fue muy influyente en Granada durante el siglo XV. Su rivalidad con la de los Cegríes, en constantes guerras civiles, fue decisiva en la caída del reino de Granada. Esta historia fue incorporada a la Diana de Montemayor en su segunda edición de 1561.
