Microplastic pollution has received great importance due to its adverse environmental and health impact. Microplastic particles are found to contaminate the ecosystem. Research has reported microplastics on seashores, in deep seas, freshwater systems including rivers and lakes, and most importantly in the air. It has been estimated that human beings can intake up to 1,21,000 microplastic particles in a year through food and inhalation.
